'At a time when Taiwan continues to assess its relationship with the rest of the world, this cultural exchange enables us to explore some of the ramifications of Taiwan's particular situation. The work in this exhibition explores, on a personal level, contemporary issues relevant to Taiwan. However, many of these issues are of significance to people from all parts of the globe. Notions of identity are developed through investigation of events and situations past, present and future. It is important to remember that any Nation, State or region is ultimately made up of people. It is envisaged that this project will allow us the opportunity to investigate and learn of the lives, hopes, dreams, fears and desires of our Taiwanese counterparts.'
